Government have been paying between £85 and £240 for printer cartridges...UK Cabinet Office statement. Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude said..."We are putting a stop to this madness which has been presided over for too long."
Cabinet Office minister Francis Maude attacks 'staggering' waste. The government aspires to do 25 percent of its business with small and medium-sized companies, said a Cabinet Office spokeswoman. "With printer cartridges, it might make sense...where it's more appropriate to look at specialist suppliers, we want to encourage government to look at SMEs."

Q: What is cartridge refilling?
A: Unlike recycling or re-manufacturing, cartridge refilling is the most environmentally sustainable and cost-saving option because no portion of the product is discarded into landfills, and far less energy is required. The refill-cartridge is installed within 10-minutes. Both our planet and consumers win in terms of cost savings and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Q: Will the print quality be the same as the quality I expect from a new printer cartridge?
A: Yes. The SAM*INK® refill-cartridge uses only the highest quality inks tested under the strictest industry large format standards. Our inks are comparison tested and proven comparable to OEM standards. These inks are specially formulated to work with the SAM*INK® refill-cartridge.
Q: Will I be able to print as many pages from a refill-cartridge as I can with a new original manufacturer (OEM) printer cartridge?
A: Yes and more because the refill-cartridge contains more ink than an individual ink-cartridge. What you are printing (full page versus half page, test versus picture, black or color content, etc.) determines the amount of ink used and therefore directly correlates to page yield.
Q: How many times can your refill-cartridge be refilled?
A: Infinite number of times.
Q: How can I keep my printer in refillable condition?
A: Just top up the refill-cartridges with inks every morning. That's all.
Q: Why do the printer say the ink level is low after having the cartridge refilled?
A: Many cartridges have an electronic signature that reads the ink levels and prompts you to refill the cartridge. Since the refill-cartridge has the same electronic signature, the printer may still be interpreting the cartridge as empty. A remedy for this is to switch off and on the printer or you can turn off the low ink message. Remember, the best practice is to refill your cartridge every morning.
Q: Can I print test pages?
The test page is printed to check that text and graphics will be printed correctly. The test page typically shows additional information, such as driver software version for troubleshooting. The process also ensures that any excess nozzle ink is cleaned out at this time. Printers do not automatically read refill-cartridges as new, so you will need to manually tell your printer to run a print test page if you want one.
Q: Will refill-cartridges void the printer manufacturer's warranty?
A: No. The U.S.A. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975 prevents original equipment manufacturers from requiring the use of their printer cartridge as a condition of warranty.
Q: How do I save money with the SAM*INK® refill-cartridge?

Q: Can my office staff do other task while a cartridge is being filled?
A: It only takes about 3-seconds to refill a SAM*INK® refill-cartridge. Once the cartridge is refilled, the office staff is free to perform other duties.
Q: Can more than one cartridge be filled at a time?
A: All four cartridges can be filled at one time.
Q: What is the success rate filling a cartridge?
A: The success rate is 100% so far. This is because it is as easy as making your daily cup of coffee in the office.
Q: Does the refill-cartridge needs to be replaced?
No, the refill-cartridge, once installed properly, does not need to be replaced.
Q: How often do the supplies need to be changed?
A: This depends on how much the printer is used, typically the office ink supply will last 15 days before the ink needs to be refilled.
Q: Are there any toxic chemicals used in the process?
A: No.
Q: How long does it take to train a new staff?
A: A new staff can be trained, in as little as, one minute. He or she will become proficient in less than a week. The refill-cartridge also has YouTube videos your employees can refer to at any time. We also provide training videos by emails.
Training
SAM*INK® also provides corporate training for IT managers and service technicians. We typically train departments, IT managers, and service technicians on-site for purchases of one or two set of refill-cartridges.
Our service training course teaches the inner workings of the refill-cartridge, theory, service tips, and all maintenance procedures.
Service
SAM*INK® do not outsource services and have maintained in-house dedicated professional Servicemen throughout the island of Singapore to get your printing device back on line ASAP. We can have a technician and the required parts (subject to availability) to your location within 24 hours.
To schedule service, call us at 6333-3302 with your printer model and a description of the problem. A technician Serviceman will call back within 2 hours to determine which part needs to be ordered and schedule the repair. Requests must be made by noon local time to ensure next day service.
Cost is $89.95/hour plus parts with a minimum of 1 hour per service call.
We have several service and warranty programs available. The SAM*INK® refill-cartridge is warranted against manufacture defects for a period of one year on parts, and 90-days for on-site labor. The service programs vary from 5-days-a-weel "9 to 5" or 24/7 response. We also have extended warranty programs and several different maintenance agreement programs. All these programs are designed to meet your specific needs.

Sam Leong, 45, is the Founder and director of Inkjet Systems Private Limited, a company with 10-year-old roots in inkjet printer cartridge re-manufacturing. A true entrepreneur and inventor, Sam's earliest ventures all involved working for multinational corporations like Hewlett-Packard and Sihl where he excelled in business development and building customer's loyalty.
